How to choose a gym?
New gym membership sign-ups usually peak at the beginning of the
year. Yes, you got it. After the endless end-of-the-year parties, many
guys(and gals) put on too much excess weight. It is time to lose those
bellies and keep to your new year resolutions i.e. look good and
keeping fit.
Before you change your mind, let’s get your butts moving and look at some things to consider when choosing the right gym.
- Location from your workplace.
Most people have a 9-5 working schedule and the best time to workout
will be after work. You would want to get to the gym in the shortest
possible time before the lazy bug gets to you. It would be ideal if the
gym is within 20 minutes of traveling time. - Opening hours.
You should allow yourself enough time to workout before the gym closes.
A good timing to reach the gym will be 2 hours before the closing. - Membership fees.
Getting a good gym with adequate facilities is ideal, but of course at
an affordable price. You wouldn’t want to pay the monthly fees with
half of your pay, would you? - The number of outlets under the same brand name. You can choose to visit other outlets if you are not able to go to your regular outlet.
- Other facilities.
Most modern gyms come with saunas, steam rooms, whirlpools, rock walls
and even tennis courts! But if going to the gym is your priority, then
a gym with basic equipment will suffice. - Extra classes.
Some gyms offer aerobics, yoga, kick-boxing classes, etc. You can join
these classes free-of-charge, but they come (usually) with a hefty
membership fee.
