Anti-Aging Diet And Exercise

June 19th, 2007

Two facts stand out for all researchers in search of the fountain of youth. Diet and Exercise play a major role on the impact on our health and on our life span. Why do we have such an interest in the aging process? Is it vanity or is it just a fear of death? Either way a tremendous amount of time and research has gone into anti-aging research.

All living organisms have a normal life span. Each and every one of us will have to face death one day. Researchers are trying to slow down the aging process. With the amount of money being spent on research most researchers believe it is only a matter of time until the aging process is slowed down and possibly to some extent even reversed.

The use of surgery, lotions, acupuncture, hair coloring, and cosmetics only treat the symptoms of aging and not the underlying cause of the problem. The fact is, if you abuse you body you will wear it out faster than if you took care if it.

You will take care of your clothes, computers, cars and your home to keep it from aging and to make it look good. Sadly to say most of us will not put the same effort into your bodies. We are willing to treat the symptoms but very little effort in treating the causes.

Diet and exercise are two factors that we can do today to determine how well we are able to slow down the aging process. You will change the oil in your car regularly and use high quality fuel then why not see your health care provider regularly and put only high quality nutrients into your body?..Anti Aging Diet continue…

June 19th, 2007

They are acquired from fruits and vegetables that have yellow, orange and dark green pigments, known as beta-carotene.

Vitamin A is also involved in maintaining the certain cells used by immune system to ward off infections and include b-cells, t-cells, macrophages, and natural killer cells. Vitamins A affect the production of the human growth hormone.

Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin and is stored primarily in the liver and to some extent the fat cells in the body. When needed the liver releases the Vitamin A into the blood stream to be carried to the cells and organs of the human body.

Unlike water-soluble vitamins, fat-soluble vitamins can reach toxic levels in the human body. The condition knows as hypervitamoinosis can occur if more than 10,000 IU per day of Active (animal) Vitamin A, or the synthetic version of Vitamin A is taken. This condition can be fatal. Do not take more than the recommended dosage of Vitamin A. Vitamin A derived from fruits and vegetables does not appear to develop toxic levels in the human body…Anti Aging Vitamin A continue…

Calorie Restriction For Anti Aging

June 14th, 2007

From an evolutionary point of view, skipping a meal here and there would be beneficial to the human body. After all the human body was designed to go for days without eating anything. In today’s society we have constant access to food and we are taking in calories all day long. Calorie restriction is also known as the anti aging diet; it is based on the theory that by eating far less calories we will be able to slow down the aging process.

A 2006 article in the Journal of American Medical Association suggested that by periodically restricting our caloric intake to as little as 890 calories a day, or fasting, resulted in a decrease in insulin levels and body temperatures, another two biomarkers of longevity. Restricting calories helps to eliminate the free radicals by burning off more calories than you take in thus reducing the amount of fat stored in the human body.

During a research study conducted in 1934, Clive McCay and Mary Crowell used calorie restriction diets to determine the effects on the aging process. They noticed that when laboratory rats were fed all the needed nutrients but the calories in their diets were drastically cut, the rats lived up to twice as long as the rats that was not on this specialized diet. These results have proven consistent over all animals tested…Anti Aging Diets continue…
