Plaque is the cause of gum disease

July 7th, 2008

A spongy deposit that develops around the teeth’s surface is known for the
term dental plaque. It surrounds various types of bacteria or microbes. To
prevent these bad bacteria it is imperative to practice good oral hygiene because
it helps removes plaques. If these plaques were not removed then it becomes
tartar as it stayed for long on the teeth’s surface. The hardened calcified
plaques stick tightly on the teeth. Only special instruments can remove the
dental plaque in the clinic of the dentist. With these plaques, your mouth is
prone to gum diseases. The disease will include gum infection and inflammation
of gum tissues surrounding the teeth. At an early stage of gum
disease
it is called gingivitis while periodontitis occurs when the
gingivitis become worst.
